Synthetic Spiral Belts
Synthetic spiral belts can be used for dewatering and drying, but also for transport in many industries. A synthetic (polyester) spiral belt is also called endless or seamless spiral mesh belt or belt filter and offers many possibilities in the field of dewatering, filtration / separation, drying and transport. A long experience in industrial fabrics and a constant focus on ecology have resulted in the development of a wide range of spiral belts for mechanical (sludge) dewatering from liquid to solid. Spirofil mainly uses this type of belt in a belt filter press and dewatering table or belt thickener.
Spirofil can supply the right spiral belt for every application. Most applications can be covered with the standard program. We supply 3 different standard types, both with and without filler wires. In specific cases, a belt can be developed with customized properties that are optimal for that situation. Special designs are for example belts with flat spiral wires or flat filler wires. A spiral wire can also be provided with carrier strips.

Applications
Our product range covers all (sludge) dewatering – belt press liquid filtration applications, such as:
- Dewatering of inert sludge from quarries or mines
- Dewatering of biological or chemical sludge from municipality sewage plants
- Pressing of grapes, fruit and others
Spirofil spiral belts are made from first quality monofilament yarns in 100% polyester. For high temperature applications, for example, PPS or Rayton ™ (Polyphenylene sulfide) is used. Each spiral belt is thermo-fixed at a high tension and temperature, which guarantees high stability and a long service life. Advantages of a spiral strap include: high strength, smooth surface, good air permeability, stable under the influence of heat & moisture, low elongation and not least a long service life.
A spiral band consists of spirals that are connected to each other with a stitch wire. Within the spiral there are filler threads which define the open surface. The spiral cavity is often provided with a filling wire.
