Plastic Woven Belts

Spirofil supplies and installs plastic woven belts or belt filter presses primarily for dewatering, drying, and general transportation in various industries. Examples of applications include:

  • Removal of sludge residues from quarries or mines
  • Removal of biological or chemical sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plants
  • Pressing grapes and other types of fruit

More information about (sludge dewatering) and the (mechanical) separation processes can be found here.

Our plastic or synthetic belts are made from special 100% polyester yarns of high quality. Each belt is thermally fixed, which increases the stability and lifespan of the belt. Spirofil can provide the right belt for every application. Most operational requirements are met by standard products.

We supply a complete range of plastic woven belts, available on order. Contact us for advice!

Woven belt (twill weave)

Features

The features and benefits of plastic woven belts are:

  • Very fine filtration
  • High strength
  • Smooth surface
  • Air permeability
  • Stable heat and moisture resistance
  • Minimal elongation (stretch)
  • Long lifespan

Plastic woven belts are available in widths up to 6 meters, with standard prefabricated seams, and a pH range of 2 to 8.

Plastic woven belts are not endless but are equipped with a special seam finish made of plastic or metal. Below is an example.

Synthetic woven belt provided with a special seam (clipper) finish of plastic or metal

A special type of plastic woven belt is the so-called double woven belt. This belt consists of two layers: a supporting layer and a filter layer. These types of belts are mainly used for solid/liquid filtration in petrochemical, chemical, and (waste) water treatment.

The benefits of double woven belts are:

  • Good mechanical properties
  • Long lifespan
  • High flow rate
  • Good cake release
  • Easy to clean
  • Stable behavior under heat and thermal expansion

Our woven belts can also be equipped with guide strips or sprocket drives for specific applications.
